Saturday Fishing

Daniel & I went bass fishing this morning to our favorite spot called Bear Pond. His bass is 2.7 lbs while mine came in at a wopping 1.5 lbs (hey, at least I caught one). We had a wonderful time on a beautiful Saturday morning. You all may remember that Tanner is the one who got Daniel started on fishing by teaching Daniel how to fish many years ago in Bird creek. Fishing is by far Daniel's favorite thing to do. Thank You Tanner for giving us a fun hobby to enjoy together.

Two goodlooking guys! And the fish aren't bad either. It warmed my heart to know you have a hobby that you enjoy together. Do you eat your catch of the day? Can I go fishing with you next time I visit? Keep the pictures coming of all your family -- I love them!!(Kyle, thanks for your Happy Birthday comments - they went straight to my heart!)

Daniel, Matt loves to fish also. He went all by himself two days ago, and just looked for a place to fish at the lake. He caught two bass (not as big as yours) and one catfish. He cooked them for us the next night. He fried the catfish, but he found the most delicious recipe for the bass. He mixed up a wonderful marinade and then after about 30 minutes in that sauce, he baked them. He also put crunchy fried onion rings on the top while they were baking. If Matt and Tanner flew out there to see you sometime, would you take them to Bear Pond? Wait a minute, are there alligators in that pond?

Yes, there are gators and also cottenmouths. I hooked a 4 or 5 foot gator one time at Bear Pond. Thank goodness it got off!

Oh my goodness, Kyle and Daniel! Stay away from Bear Creek if there are gators there! Actually, those fish look great!

Kyle and Daniel, I love seeing the pictures!!! I am glad there wasn't a gator head in the background! This is such a fun way to keep up with everyone! Miss you all!

Dan the Man. you caught some "sweet bass" (Napoleon quote). Tanner forgot to teach you how to take a picture of your fish. The trick of the trade is to hold the fish with your arms extended directly at the camera. This will make you look smaller in the background and the fish look much bigger closer to the camera. Also, try to have the least amount of your fingers showing as possible. This eliminates a scale for people to use.
