Let's be a family that prays for each other!

I was thinking last night that there is no reason why we can't use the blog to share prayer requests and pray for each other. Given that we are a family of believers who understand the power of prayer, I figured that it makes no sense why we couldn't consistently pray for each other. I'm open for suggestions, but I was thinking that I could add a "Family Prayer List" to the right side of the blog as a permanent fixture. If anyone has a prayer request just post it as a comment, and I'll be sure to add it to the list. Then when God answers the prayer or the event is over you can provide an update. I know one prayer request off the top of my head would be for safety for Justin as he serves in Iraq.

God is Good!

Tyler, that is an awesome idea! I only wish that everyone in the family would take advantage of the blog! One prayer request that is foremost in my mind is for Matt's job search. He has a couple of things he will be checking on as soon as he gets back from San Antonio tomorrow. He has been there for the last several days doing hard manual labor with a friend of his that is building a house. It certainly is work that does not require a college degree! Anyway, prayers that the Lord will lead him to exactly where He wants him to be!
Thanks!

Tyler, what a great idea! Families should be prayer partners because we love each other. Justin should be at the top of the list because he is "in harm's way" every moment. However, as long as we live here on this earth, we all are "in harm's way" so may our Lord's presence be a shield around each one of us! In Christ's Love, Nana 1

Thank you Tyler for your suggestions. Taylor and Kirby are headed to Tech this weekend. Please pray for God's will as Taylor chooses a major and signs up for classes. Also pray for their safe travel. Thanks!

Tyler, how encouraging to know that we are praying for each other. I intend now to refer to the blog each day before I have my quiet time so I can add any new prayers. Let's pray for all family members who will be on the highways this Father's Day weekend. Melissa, Nate, & girls are coming for the day. Natalie and Ty are going to Granbury for the weekend. Thanks for your idea.

Gran told me to get on this and check everything out and i'm so glad I did! It took me a good hour to read past posts. My personal favorite is Tara's weekend update...Did Cody really set all those booby traps???? Man, I need to check-in more often!! Coming in close second was the Napolean clip...oh, and "Nana 1" getting her first pedicure!! Ha!

The prayer request is such a cool idea for our family to do. I've been "gettin' my education on" and the end is near! Please pray for direction and that the Lord will open doors for me.

Prayers for Justin (and our troops) as they serve our country need to flow continuously.

This is silly but I almost started crying as I was reading all of these prayer requests. I'm not sure we all realize how lucky we are to have such a strong family of believers. This has become so evident to me as several people in Nate's and my small group pray for family members who do not have a relationship with Christ. There are a couple of people in the group who don't have a single believer in their family.

Anyway, I am so thankful for all of you and for the presence of God in this family.

Please pray for our Church as we grow. We are really growing pretty fast and are doing really cool things for the City of Austin and the enemy hates that. It it weird to see the spiritual attack that goes on with planting a Church. Satan is everywhere and constantly trying to destroy what God is doing. Please just pray for the staff that God will protect from spiritual attack and give them strength and wisdom to get through when it does happen. God is bigger than Satan and prayer is so powerful so thanks for taking the time to pray for Austin City Life.

One more thing...Nate and I are training for a half marathon in San Antonio in November and the fact that I will be running for more than five minutes is going to be a miracle in itself. Just pray we have the strength to do this and that somehow, God uses it to glorify himself. I am hoping to do this half marathon in November and then the full Austin marathon in February.

Just to make it easier for me to update going forward. Please make all new prayer request new posts. And don't forget to update everyone when God answers our prayers!
