THANKSGIVING THOUGHTS

Last Thursday night, two days after the election, I witnessed behavior in my small group Bible study that disappointed and embarrassed me. There were angry remarks or jokes made by some Christian women who voted the same as I did. I know of at least 2 Christian ladies who voted differently (I know I was shocked, too). The point is we are all sincere Christians. For weeks comments have been made, but the two who voted differently never made an inappropriate comment including after the election. I for one have decided to earnestly pray for the new administration. My thoughts in the last several days have been that as the holidays approach and we all get together that we leave our political views at the door and focus on all our blessings! We have a very large family for which we can all be thankful. However, with a family as large as ours there always will be differing views just as there are within a church. Therefore,
"Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone." Colossians 4:6
Do others of you agree?

Yes, Betsy. I agree with you also! I have witnessed some of the same and it makes me very sad. It also makes for some very awkward situations. Thanks for this reminder! I am looking forward to seeing everyone for Thanksgiving in a few weeks :)

Proverbs 21:1
"The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He wishes."
God is still in control!!!
I agree with you totally about leaving the politics (and opinions about it) at the door. I'll be happy to do my part!

Gran, thank you so much for posting this blog. I AGREE! I think it's very important for us to set our political views aside and concentrate on what we are thankful for. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving too!
