Thanksgiving will arrive this year in Temple on Friday 28 Nov 08 at 2:00 pm. I was thinking I would give myself an extra hour to prepare and let some of the others sleep late.
Along with family traditions of a family prayer of giving thanks there will be the traditional cream cheese corn, frozen fruit salad, dressing and gravy, chess pie, pecan pie, fine chocolate mess etc. I guarantee the smells will be intoxicating and the food delicious. These are the happy memories that bind us together as a family. Looking forward to seeing everyone and listening to the laughing, and talking. Nelwyn will be taking multiple pictures with her disposable camera, telling us that we will glad we have these pictures “50 years from now.”
I would like to send out a couple of requests. I will be serving tea and water. If you would like to drink something else please bring the beverage of your choice. Also bring extra kitchen towels for the annual dish washing event in which Melissa will happily be participating. Then would each family bring plastic containers to take home leftovers?

Thanks, Kim for the info! We will make sure to bring a beverage, dishtowels and plastic containers. And of course the macaroni & cheese and asparagus :) Looking forward to it!
I love your macaroni and cheese, Mary Helen. It's like my Grandmother Richards used to make.
I can't wait!! I am already hungry!
Have fun Friday! I'll be thinking about you all, and missing all of the delicious food, and great company!
Tara you and Cody will be greatly missed but we will make up for it at Christmas! Nana will make extra frozen fruit salad for you. Mary Helen the asparagus and macraroni and cheese sound fantastic!
It sounds like such fun. I cannot wait to eat; however, since I always celebrate T-Day on Thursday & you all are celebrating on Friday, I guess we will just have to stay home to enjoy all the food. I have found that a well timed alka-seltzer allows for a higher consumption of goodies. Wish we could be there. Happy T-Day to all.
Kyle
Kyle...Mary Helen would not agree with your recommendation of a well time alk-seltzer. We had her try it one time and she was miserable and hasn't taken our advise ever since.
