My sweet "Zoe Bird"

As some of you may know. We had to put Zoey down yesterday. Her back unexplainably gave out on her, and she became paralyzed in her back 2 legs. Once the Dr. informed us that we could do nothing to make her walk again, we knew the kindest thing we could do for her, was let her go. Yesterday was a hard day in the Johnson & Campbell household. She will be dearly missed.

To be completely honest… I am struggling with the idea of Zoey being absent from my life. I know she has been in Temple the last few years, and Cody and I got another dog, but by no means had Zoey been replaced or forgotten. I was always excited to get home, and see my sweet friend. We had a bond distance or time could not break. Simply put, we loved one another.

For those of you who have had college dogs, you know how important they are. These animals become a part of who you are. They become your family. Zoey was my family.

I once read a quote about dogs that has stayed with me, “Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.” Zoey was a part of my “whole.” And she will always be one of the most precious things to have touched my life.

I am thankful for her, and the time God allowed us to share.

Music for the City

Nate wanted me to thank all of you for your prayers and for your donations. Because of your contributions, Music for the City was able to launch it's website this weekend. God has already begun to bless this venture and provided MFTC many small donors and last week they had their first very big donor give money!

Natalie's Kitchen Shower

Henry got a new companion for him. It is a British labador retreiver, whose name is Trapper. Here are a few pictures of him:

Well it is official. The Man Porch is complete. I am not going to posting any pictures as I want to see Joel and Shari's faces when they see the completed project. It has been a lot of hard physical and creative work, but Kirby and I are pleased with the outcome. I believe we are at our best as a couple when we are working together. Looking forward to Thanksgiving... and as Joel calls it the "Thankmas Summit" We are expecting over 40 people this year.

Labor Day Weekend!- Gotta love a free day off from work

Sweatshirt Weather - It was 70 degrees outside this morning! I know we're not there yet, but at least we're getting close!

Autumn Leaves - I love taking evening walks and admiring all the different colors in the neighborhood.

Opening the Windows- I love the way a house smells and sounds when the windows are open!

Fall Sweeps- Get your DVRs ready because Primetime TV is just around the corner!

Fall Fashion- I love getting the September issue of Vogue or InStyle and seeing all the new trends this season. (Not that I ever follow them, but one can dream.... right?)

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes- I got a notice in my inbox P.S. lattes start today! :)

The Fish that didn't get away!

This past weekend I went down to Matagorda on the Texas coast with one of my good buddies, Spencer, to go fishing and here are a few of the things we caught:

Tanner:

-40 inch TROPHY Red Fish weighing in the neighborhood of 25 lbs (I'm wearing a blue shirt)

F.Y.I- this fish is currently at a taxidermist getting cleaned and mounted, so I can hang it on my living room wall for many years to come!!

-42 inch Black Drum weighing about 28 lbs(I'm wearing a yellow shirt)

-27 inch Black Drum

-7 to 8 lb Gafftop

Spencer:

-42 inch TROPHY Red Fish weighing about 26lbs

-30 inch Hammerhead Shark

-18 inch Flounder

-10 inch Mangrove Snapper

ALL we caught a lot of other fish that were just not captured by the camera. All in all this is by far the best fishing trip I have had in years!!!
