Hey there "Fam"
It is that time of the year to get out the calendars and being penciling in a few dates.
This year A&M and UT will be playing on Thanksgiving day along with the Cowboys. Since there are so many distractions we will actually celebrate Thanksgiving on Friday 28 Nov 08. I would like to have the meal around 1:30 pm. That way Melissa will have plenty of time to help with the dishes.
The Cinnamon Roll bake off will be Monday 08 Dec 08. I am hoping I will have last year's "elves" (Melissa and Mary Helen) as well as the new recruits Sally and Tara. I am hoping to break the 60 pan record of last year as well as the amazing $1500 total. I may be asking for some help from the "Fam" for refrigerator space and ovens. This year's recipient will be Ralph Wilson Youth Clubs. Charlie Kimmey said they are having a hard time this year with the death of Ralph Wilson who always helped out with his "deep pockets".
Christmas! I thought we would follow the pattern of last year with everyone going to church with their family (early service if possible) and then back to the house for the traditional Christmas dinner. Following cleaning up there will be the "Thankmas" or the "Christmas exchange". There will be a $30 limit. Remember, for those who decide to participate it is a contest for the most extraordinary gift. Kirby is once again is convinced that he has the best gift of 2008!!!!
Last years list:

Looking forward to the festivities and family stories - both old and new. You can bet Kirby and Alana will rehash some of the old stories we have heard every year and also look forward to everyone's new stories of 2008. As we get closer to the actual dates please let me know who is going to come to dinner so we can set a place at the table for everyone. Also be thinking of you favorite dish to bring.
I will make the Ham, Turkey and bread.

All of it sounds great? Am I down for a wash tub of cheese corn and pecan pies or do you all want me to think up something else?
The Navarro's will be there! I am looking forward to not cleaning up! I will bring the corn dip and the green bean casserole...
I can't wait! And if I remember correctly, the wine chiller was the best gift in 07!!
Betsy! Please don't replace your cream cheese corn and pecan pie with something else! It just wouldn't be Christmas without them!
Cody and I will in Lubbock for Thanksgiving, but will be there for Christmas! :)
I'll have to think about what dish I am going to bring.
We will be there for the festivities and my family will again come armed with a Thankmas game plan. Last year we walked away with the two best gifts which were the wine chiller and the Kinkade print (which hangs in our living room). Yes, I said it...the wine chiller was one of the top two gifts and Alana "totally redeemed herself".
I have no doubt that at least one member of the Navarro family will be helping clean. We can all guess who that one will be...see the main blog picture if you need a hint.
We are looking forward to everything.
Tyler, Did we tell you that we voted, and couples have to sit across the room from each other? It's also against the "new" rules to have sign language or make faces in the direction of your spouse.
we'll be texting then.
Sounds like great fun for the holidays -- my favorite time of the year! Thanks to Kim and Kirby for hosting our family get-together. I'll bring the frozen whipcream salad and one bowl will be without bananas for Tyler and Kirby and one bowl will be for Tara to take home. I'll see what else I need to cook up. Love to all -- Nana 1
sure wish we could be there...sounds like so much fun!:) be sure to take a family photo and send it to us!!!
Y'all are so much fun! We loved participating in our first Thankmas last year and we hope to make it again this year. We will let you know when our schedule is finalized!
I am honored to be helping in the 2008 Cinnamon Roll day, also. Can't wait, Kim! We can try to beat you last year's record :)
