I am sending this update on behalf of Tanner, Taylor, Kim, and Kirby.
As most of you know, Tanner and Taylor said good-bye last weekend. And both headed off to college.
Tanner is going to his fraternity's initiation week. Please be praying for the fellowship he will experience with his brothers, safety while they are on this retreat, and safe travel as he returns to College Station. (And his new apartment!)
Taylor is settling in quite nicely at Tech. Mom, Dad, and Taylor made the 5 1/2 hour drive to Lubbock Saturday morning (they left around 3AM!!) The weather was in the 60's, Dad said they never even broke a sweat! (Not quite the same experience as moving Tanner in last year, where the humidity in C. Station was so high, they were sweating the moment they stepped out of the car.) I'm told the move was easy, only one minor glitch, he TV/cable outlet in the dorms wasn't working. But Taylor assured mom she is older enough to take care of that problem herself. :) I spoke with Taylor right after Mom and Dad left, she was tearful for a minute or 2, but within a few minutes she was composed and ready to go to dinner with her new Tech-san friends!
Taylor is starting sorority rush this week, so please be praying that she becomes involved with a sorority that will love her for who she is, guide her to made good decisions, and be full of girls women Taylor will become lifelong friends with! :)
Kirby and Kim are in Colorado for the week, celebrating their new found freedom! Please keep them in your prayers, as they will be driving back this weekend.

Wow!!! never thought the term "quiet" would describe the
K2T4 household...you've all grown up to be beautifully grounded men and women....:) we'll be praying for the transition and safe travels for all!
I can't believe it is finally here! I talked to Tay last night and she seemed in good spirits after the first round of rush. Tyler and I always have the three of you in our prayers and will continue with that forever!
What a transition for all of you! Sounds like it's off to a good start for everyone. I will keep the whole family in my prayers. God bless you all.
Where did the years go? Tanner and Taylor should still be toddling around in my front yard playing with the water hose. For that matter, Tyler and Tara should still be playing baseball in my front yard with the neighborhood kids (Andy Flanagan). How good our Lord has been to watch over our family all these years with His protection and provision.Well I'm going to have to go because my vision is getting blured -- I guess I got something in my eye! Blessings on Tanner and Taylor as they go through their college years. Love to all, Nana 1
Love you all! Tay, we are praying for a GREAT first year at Tech. Tanner, be safe and don't have too much fun on your retreat. Kirby & Kim, please post pictures when you return!
I will pray for all of those things you mentioned! What changes have taken place in the Johnson family over the last week!! By the way, it is a 7 1/2 hr. drive to Lubbock!!
I am happy to announce that Tanner made it through his initiation week with his frat. He is so excited to no longer be a pledge. He is now going straight into fall rush, and then starting school. He's busy, busy.
Taylor is onto her last night in Rush. She has had so much fun going to all the houses, and meeting so many girls. Taylor will know tomorrow which sorority she joins. I'll keep everyone posted on the results. (Since Taylor doesn't ever post on the fmaily blog...)
