Taylor got a Puppy!

Taylor has been looking forward to moving out of the dorms for several reasons, but the most exciting is so she could get a puppy.  I told her I wanted to get the puppy for her. To be completely honest, it's as much a gift to my parents as to Taylor. When I got Zoey, (who's about 40 lbs.) I didn't realize that I would have to have a yard after college in order to be able to keep her.  Since, Cody and I don't have a yard, my parents had to adopt her (and Jack for that matter). It is so hard to part with these animals, b/c they become your family. So, I wanted to make sure Tay got a puppy small enough that she could keep it in an apartment if she needs to once she graduates. (And, so my parents don't get yet another Johnson kid dog.)

Taylor wanted to get a small breed that doesn't shed. So, we have been looking for the last few weeks for the perfect puppy. In the Dallas newspaper there was an add for these precious poodles.  I showed Taylor and she fell in LOVE! So, Sat. morning she flew to Dallas, we checked out the puppies, and she found HER dog! She picked the sweetest, cutest puppy! He is 2. 4 lbs, and will probably be about 6 or 7lbs. full grown. She named him Stanley! :)

Cody and I are going to keep Stanley until Taylor finishes with her finals at the beginning of May.  The timing works out perfectly. Since he is so tiny he will need lots of attention, making sure he eats and drinks enough, etc. Cody works out of the house most of the day, so we will be able to keep a close eye on the little guy. By the time Taylor gets him, he will be finished with his last round of shots, and out of that baby baby stage. Hopefully we will turn over a happy, healthy, potty trained puppy.

I am officially a Homeowner

Well as of Thursday I became a homeowner. It will be another month before I move in because there was some updating that needed to be done. I have taken before pictures and will post them along with the after pictures. I am really excited but it was a huge decision and I admit I have been a little stressed out about it. I have prayed about this decision to buy a house from the beginning, so I really feel that the Lord led me to just the perfect house (and street) for me. I can't wait to show everyone!

Shari's Birthday! Monday, Feb.2nd is Shari's birthday. Although she looks 25, I think she is really 26 and as beautiful as ever! Have a wonderful day with your family always remembering how much your entire family (all 30 0f us) love you. You are a real blessing!! Love, Nelwyn.

Yay Kim!

For those of you who do not get the Temple Daily Telegram, try to get a copy of the Magazine that was in today's paper. What a great article about Kim and her annual Christmas cinnamon roll bake-off. Kim, I know your dad is so proud of your selfless Christmas gift to him. What an honor!
P.S. I figured out how to do this picture thing all by myself. Nelwyn, I teach you how to do it!!

You talk. They ticket!

So, apparently there is a new law in Dallas that you can't talk on your hand held cell phone while driving in a school zone! I learned of this new law this morning when a cop walked up to my car (yes, walked) while I was stopped at a stop light, knocked on my window, and gave me a ticket for it. (Cody was out of town, so I was calling him to wake him up this morning. Of course, that makes this his fault, not mine! :) haha..)

This is not a moving/traffic violation so I don't have to worry about doing defensive driving, or it going on my insurance. But... I did look up the ticket and it is a $200 fine!! So, check your local ISD and watch out for those school zones.

Oh... by that way! The school zone that I got a ticket in, did not have one of these signs telling you cell phones are prohibited.  (As my mom would say, that's totally bogus!)
