TC Playoffs - Thursday, March 6th @ 7:00!!

Just so everybody knows, TC has locked in their playoff game time. They will play Howard at 7:00 pm at UMHB on Thursday, March 6th. TC finished 27-3 which is the second best overall record ever. When they win on Thursday night, they will play the winner of Odessa (who came in first in the West) and MCC (who finished 4th in our conference) on Saturday @ 2 pm.

This is the last year for the playoffs to be at UMHB, so there is no excuse not to come. Here's a link to Region V for some info on the other teams if you are interested.

Basketball Tournament game time

The basketball game for Temple College will be Thursday March 6th @ 7:00 against Howard College. Temple finished the regular season 27 - 3. Howard's record is 23 - 7, so it will be a difficult game, as they all are in the playoffs.

A&M v. Texas on Thanksgiving Day

They just announced that the A&M v. UT football game will be on Thanksgiving Day as opposed to the day after and will be televised by ESPN. Here's the link:

There's some good news for people who spend a lot of time on their cellphones.
Three of the nation's largest cellphone companies are rolling out plans that charge a flat rate for unlimited calling, a significant departure from the traditional model, in which consumers purchase "buckets" of minutes. The new plans cost more than most traditional options and are aimed at the heavy user, a customer that wireless carriers compete fiercely to land.
Verizon Wireless, a joint venture between Verizon Communications Inc. and Vodafone Group PLC, said it will charge $99.99 a month, plus taxes and fees, for its unlimited voice. The plan is available immediately. Rivals AT&T Inc. and T-Mobile USA Inc. quickly followed suit by announcing similar plans, which will be priced the same as Verizon Wireless's offering.

Beautiful has gone to her new home. It was hard on Tay to say good-bye to Beautiful. She did paint her hooves with toenail polish (with the breeders permission). She said it was easy to identify her in the trailer! Only Tay would think to do something like that.
The Big MCC game is Monday ... that is alway tough... "no dought" (Tyler and Lee will appreciate the spelling"
Tyler and Lee are making "Brawny Man" t-shirts and mugs. They will be marketing them soon. So get your orders in ASAP. I know Alana will sell a cell phone to get a first edition copy.

Thanks

Thanks for all the love and support you all gave Taylor at the Show. Dad came from AZ and filled in the gaps ...feeding and watering the pig, giving advice, running errands and taking loads of pictures. Attending the auction was Tyler, Mary Helen, Lee, Sally, Nana, Betsy, Alana, Jerry, Jessica, Eldo and Honey. Then we had constant phone communication with Tara and Tanner. And finally the emails from the rest. I feel so blessed to be a part of such a warm and loving family. The price of the pig did not go as high as we had hoped but to Taylor she said "I'd rather have Grand Champion" than the money. I think that is a very healthy attitude!

my first entry

Hey there FAM.
This has been an exciting couple of days. As you all know Taylor won Grand Champion Pig yesterday. Dad and I went to look at some of the pictures from the ring...Oh my word...some of them really capture the moment. As soon as I learn how to post some pictures I will share them with you. I will get Nana to help me...
Kirby won a tight game but in the end we won so it was a happy ending to a happy day.
Saturday is the auction!!! I am betting they will auction off the Grand Champion in the morning with the bidders pockets are deep. I will keep you all "posted".

Taylor's Pig is GRAND CHAMPION!!!

She beat all the fat pigs (heavy weight division), then she beat the all the Yorks (best in breed), now she has beaten all the pigs of any breed in BELL COUNTY! The potentially big payday will be Saturday at the auction. Next up, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous staring Taylor Johnson.
