HELP!

This is for the "working" mom's who are raising children at home or who have raised children at home, while maintaing a job.

I NEED HELP!

I woke up this morning feeling like a failure of a mom and wife when I looked around and saw how dusty/messy our house was. I need advice before #3 comes on how to schedule: work, laundry, house cleaning, dishes (without a dishwasher), cooking or at least providing dinner, bathing children, hanging up laundry and still having time to spend with my husband and children after work and on the weekends. When do you do all of these things? How do you fit them in when both parents work? What is a sample schedule? Do I need a maid every other week? Do I do laundry every day? When do I do it? Early in the morning or after work?

I badly need advice because my brain does not naturally think "organization". I'm going to have to be deliberate about it and make good use of my time and I don't want to give up quality time with my family.

(One thing that will help is going part time in January) But until then, I need to start practicing.

Kim? Shari? Sally? Advice??

Shari's Roasted Shrimp & Orzo Salad

This is the recipe for the DELICIOUS salad Shari made for the 4th!

Wouldn't this be great at Thanksgiving?! Something light and fresh to go with all that comfort food! *Hint, Hint, Shari! :)

Roasted Shrimp & Orzo Salad
Sea Salt
Olive Oil
¾ pound orzo pasta
½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice(about 3 lemons)
freshly ground black pepper
2 pounds (16-18 count )shrimp-peeled and deveined
1 cup minced scallions(white & green parts)
1 cup chopped fresh dill
1 cup chopped fresh flat leap parsely
1 hothouse cucumber, unpeeled, seeded & medium diced
½ cup small diced red onion
¾ lb good feta cheese-large diced

Pre heat oven to 400
-Fill large pot with water, add 1tbs salt & splash of oil bring to a boil—cook orzo for 9-11 minutes. Drain & pour into bowl. Wisk together the lemon juice, ½ cup olive oil, 2 teaspoons salt & 1 teaspoon pepper. Pour over hot pasta & stir well.
-Mean while, place the shrimp on a sheet pan, drizzle with olive oil & sprinkle with salt & pepper. Toss to combine & spread out on single layer. Roast for 5-6 minutes, until the shrimp are cooked through, but don’t over cook.
-Add the shrimp to orzo and add scallions, dill, parsley, cucumber, onion, 2 teaspoons salt & 1 teaspoon pepper. Toss well. Add the feta & stir carefully. Set aside at room temp for at least 1 hour…I suggest refrigerating overnight to allow the flavors to blend. Enjoy!

Aiden Cartier

One of Cody and I's dear friends Tracy Sellers' nephew, Aiden has become very ill. She has sent out a prayer request and asked that we pass this on to all our prayer chains. Please pray for Aiden and Tracy's family.

*This prayer was sent by Tracy's family. *
I am asking for your prayers for Aiden Cartier. He is only 7yrs. old. Last Tuesday Aiden went into surgery to have a brain tumor removed. Due to complications during surgery, the Doctors were unable to remove all of the tumor. Aiden's health has begun to decline. He needs your prayers.

Please put your hands together as we pray for him:
Father, You know the cure for every illness. You know every inch of Aiden's form, every cell of his body. You know what he needs to be healed. We ask for that healing now, we come before You humbly, knowing Your power and standing in awe of Your mystery. We are asking for a miracle, but most of all, we are asking for Your will to be done in Aiden's life. Dear God, we place our worries in Your hands. We place Aiden in Your care and humbly ask that You restore Your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge Your holy will and know that whatsoever You do You do for the love of us. Amen

Update on AG Saab

Emily Messerschmitt (Kurt's wife) sent this update yesterday afternoon.

"Good news form the OR.
All went well. Sounds like AG has a good chance for a full recovery. The surgeon successfully removed the tumor and the visual examination of his abdomen was clean. Next hurdle is the test results from the biopsies of tumor and lymph nodes (which didn’t appear swollen or discolored)."

God is good. Please continue to keep AG and his family in your prayers.

Thank you!

We need your prayers!

AG Saab (Emily's Messerschmitt's father) was diagnosed with Colon cancer today. As believers, we know God is the Great Physician. He can heal AG. "God can do all things.” Matthew 19:26

Please pray that the Lord fill AG with the healing power of His Spirit. We ask that the Lord restore AG to full health in mind, body, and spirit, so he may continue to serve the Lord. Please pray for his family, that they stay strong in their faith, and find refuge in His presence.

I will update, as we get information regarding his condition.

Thank you for praying!
