Happy Birthday, Natalie!!!

First I would like to say Happy Birthday, Natalie. What a joy you are to me and I am so blessed to have you as a daughter. I hope you had a great day today. Second, pray for Natalie and me as we leave tomorrow for New York to see Drew. Please pray for travel safety and a wonderful time for all three of us. We all need this time together and are looking so forward to it. I'll try to post pictures when I get back!

Irritating... Exciting

I'll start with "irritating" news...I went home for lunch today, to check on Wilson. (Our dog.) I was going to get some ice from the freezer and noticed EVERYTHING was COMPLETELY melted. I figured we had just left the freezer door open. So, I threw away all our perishable items, and went on to eat my lunch.

Right before I left to go back to work, I opened the fridge to get a coke and noticed the fridge wasn’t cold either. I felt some of the items, and it appears that the refrigerator isn’t working either. From the looks of how COMPLETELY melted everything was in the freezer, I'd say it's been out a couple of days. (I had some soup for lunch and added some cheddar cheese from the fridge to it. I also had yogurt this morning. GROSS!!… I hope I don’t get sick!) How did we not notice it?? (Luckily, we went out to dinner last night!)

The lights on the fridge are working, and it seems to be running. It’s just not cooling anything. So, we’ll have to call for service... Hope it's still under warranty. This is going to be an expensive repair, b/c we’ll have to practically throw everything away…

Now lets move on to the "exciting" news.... Last week I asked everyone to pray for Cody, b/c he had a day full of really important meetings. The company he met with were potential investors for a data center Cody is working on, here in Dallas. I'm happy to announce that Cody's company heard back from the investors, with an official offer to invest!! Thank you again for all your prayers on this matter.

God is so good!

Happy Mothers Day

I saw this story and thought it was cute!

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5, and Ryan, 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake. I can wait.'" Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus."

HAPPY (belated) MOTHERS DAY! Hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday!

Mary Helen is the "New Nelwyn"

So...I talked to Mary Helen on the phone Sunday night as she and Tyler called to congratulate Nate and me and the girls on baby Navarro...and literally two days later had a card in the mail congratulating us again. It had the sweetest note inside too!

I mean...who takes the time to get a card for someone just because they find out their pregnant?? Umm...Nelwyn and Mary Helen do.

Mary Helen, thank you so much. It really did mean a lot to receive that in the mail and I'm sure we will all be glad for you to keep up that tradition long after Nelwyn is gone (no offense Nelwyn...I want you to stay around for a long time).

A few tips for you though, Mary Helen. You might want to get with Nelwyn and coordinate ALL dates she has. We got a card from her on our anniversary, valentines, Easter and on ALL birthdays. I'm just sayin'.

All kidding aside...I can't tell you how much I appreciated getting that card in the mail. Thanks again Mary Helen!

5th Addition to the Navarro Family...

*NOTE*  (Melissa,  Betsy asked me to copy this over to the Johnson blog for members who do not check your blog daily. I hope you don't mind!)

*ORIGINAL TEXT*
So...I know this is SO early but...we are adding another Navarro at the end of December/beginning of January. I am about 5 or 6 weeks pregnant and we tried to keep it a secret but...the secret's out(Mom)! No, not really. We told a "few" people and our city group and it spread like wildfire. I think I might have had 4 people come up to me at Church on Sunday and say "I heard a little secret"...

So...we are just going to go with it and announce that baby Navarro will be here in close to 34 weeks.
Ava and Jessica are really excited...it took Jess a little longer to get excited but knowing that she is moving over to the other side of the house and will have her own bedroom, living room and bathroom has sealed the deal:)

The reason for the picture is that I took a couple of tests a couple of weeks ago that had a VERY faint positive line on it and so neither one of us were willing to believe I was REALLY pregnant. So, I gave in and bought the (more expensive), digital test and it was a big fat digital YES+.

We are really excited and will continue to post updates on baby Navarro for the next 34 weeks.

I've thought about posting a picture of my stomach and ankles every week for the next 34 weeks...I might also consider keeping my dignity though. We'll see.

It's a big day for Cody today...

Please keep Cody in your prayers today. He has a day filled with really important meetings, regarding the data center work he has been working on for months.

I don’t know much of the details about the meetings themselves, but I do know that Cody has been “nervous” about them for several days. (I’ve only heard Cody say he was nervous a couple of times  (and never were those cases regarding business), so these meetings must be a REALLY big deal)

So, please help me in praying for Cody today. THANK YOU! :)

Kyle's Visit to Texas

Four out of the Johnson 5 will be coming to Texas from June 11th -- June 16th. Kyle and the boys will get to come. Amy, we will miss getting to hug you. She will stay at home and take care of all the pets and animals so they won't have to hire an "animal sitter" to come to their house every day. Amy, we will truly miss getting to see you! Getting to spend a few days with Kyle and the boys will be great fun, however. We'll be counting the days !!! Love to all, Nana 1

Britteny Maricle's is having a baby

I love facebook, because you get to keep up with people you might otherwise loose contact with. Brittney Maricle (Carla's daughter) got married last June, and is now (about 12 weeks) pregnant. She posted on her facebook page, that she heard the heartbeat for the first time today, at her ultrasound appointment.

I thought the family would like to know, so we can keep her and her new baby in our prayers. I'll update the post once, if she announces the sex and/or name of the baby! :)

Bring the Rain

Today's Daily Devotional by Max Lucado is a powerful one. I had to share.....

When you have many kinds of trouble, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience. James 1:2 (NCV)

God didn’t say, “If you have many kinds of troubles”…he said, “When you have many kinds of troubles…”  Troubles are part of the package.  Betrayals are part of our troubles.  Don’t be surprised when betrayals come.  Don’t look for fairness here—look instead where Jesus looked.

While going through hell, Jesus kept his eyes on heaven.  While surrounded by enemies he kept his mind on his father.  While abandoned on earth, he kept his heart on home.  “In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of God, the Powerful One, and coming on clouds in the sky” (Matt. 26:64).

When all of earth turns against you, all of heaven turns toward you.  To keep your balance in a crooked world,…think of home.

Isn't it wonderful to know our God is with us? Even through our "troubles," we can experience joy! We can use our hardships to draw closer to Him.

This devotional makes me think of the song "Bring the Rain" by Mercy Me. (It's a good one, if you haven't heard it!)

"Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings your glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain"

Have a Blessed Day!! :)

Kim, please post pictures from Sally's Shower

As most of you know, Sally Armstrong had a baby shower on Sunday. (It was super cute!) My mom took lots (and lots) of pictures at the shower. So... I am publically calling her out of it, in hopes of pressuring her to post the pictures soon.

Hope eveyone has a Happy Easter Week!
